Ooooh: rotating blades, excrement, American Greetings vs. Penny Arcade.

First off, Penny Arcade had a very funny comic regarding Strawberry Shortcake.

Then American Greetings got mad.

The resulting carnage made it to /..

Consequently, I decided that a statement of my comsumer power was in order.
You guys? That was *parody*. An apology is due to the artists of Penny Arcade, and the threat of lawsuit should be withdrawn.

The comic strip is freely available at dozens of mirror sites online, the story has hit http://www.slashdot.com... You guys are getting free publicity, of entirely the wrong sort. The comic is being viewed by people who otherwise would not have given half a damn.

Please note that I, and likely other people who have been offended by these actions of yours, will not be purchasing any American Greetings products until I see your apology posted on the Penny Arcade website.

Since I don't buy their shit anyway, I won't be making much of an impact, but... hey. Might as well take this moment to go out and *say* so.

You still a fan of Penny Arcade? I quit reading it recently because it hadn't made me laugh in ages. I think it has something to do with the fact that I'm almost entirely a Pc gamer, and find most console stuff to be trite and arcadey, where the simulation on a Pc can leave me lost in gaming space for days :)

Do you read Pvp (http://www.pvponline.com/) or Angst Tech. (http://www.inktank.com/AT/) as well? Those make me laugh out loud at least a couple of times a week, especially the bit AT is running about how the marketing guy is the spawn of satan - lol.

I hope you're happy. I just hurt myself laughing at the last five weeks' worth of comics.
