Mercury seems to be doing an interesting thing with me. Instead of making all my communications back up, it's doubling back on my insight.

Twice the insight. No waiting.

about mercury retrograde. other than screw up mechanicals, what else does it do and why? I understand that things have a tendency to go wrong during these periods but I don't know the whys and wherefores.

It screws up anything having to do with anything that Mercury is involved with. Communication, any message-sending, information-sharing, information gathering...

And transportation. Which is why the mechanicals. Not just *any* mechanicals, but only transportation-specific mechanicals, ie, cars, trains, etc. Communication mechanicals: computers, fax machines, telephones. Expect especial troubles when combining the two: using telephones or using complex communication arrangements for transportation/travel plans. No buying tickets over the internet or phone - go in person, get everything hard copy in writing, right there, double-check everything, be extra careful, etc.

Heh.

Cornered the person, told them that I didn't know how much credence they gave to that particular form of hooey, but the unexpected situation that had come up? They needed to just keep doing their part of things, and trust that the other ends of it would be taken care of.

Evidently, I was spot-on, and the person in question already was doing that.
