Saw a really good RSC production of it, oh, several years ago now. my school used to take 15-18 yr old English students to Stratford for a weekend each year, and we'd see two plays. MAAN was really good, apart from Benedick. the guy playing Benedick was passably good and portrayed his character well, for all the part of the play which had been cut from that Kenneth Brannagh and Emma Thompson movie, but for all the bits that had been in it, he was exactly like KB had been in the movie. it was like watching a guy with split personality or something. was very disappointed, as otherwise he was pretty good and it was generally a good production. funny how things can influence people like that.
sigh no more, ladies, sigh no more. men were deceivers ever.
If I were doing that, I would probably want to dig up some really bizarre other interpretations of it, so they'd all jumble together and I'd be able to pick out what I actually wanted to do.
