there are very few things I consider absolute, or objectively wrong. Torturing, rape and severe physical abuse of another person, especially children, who has done nothing to warrant such abuse is wrong, and you have to have done something pretty horrible to warrant such treatment, there are other avenues of punishment.

Pretty much everthing else has variations where the behaviour might be reasonable. (okay, pushing the red button and destroying the earth with thermonuclear weapons is pretty asinine. I really can't think of a good reason for that, regardless of alien invasion or what have you.)

I figure as long as you aren't hurting anyone but yourself....it's your call. Yeah, if you do drugs it hurts people who love you, but, for some people, there are good reasons for doing them. If I could lay my hands on marijuana, I would occasionally smoke it, because it does wonders for my fibro and my bi polar and anxiety which not a damn thing the doctor proscribes for me will even touch.

Yeah, if you take your life it will hurt others, but if your quality of life sucks that bad....it's still your life and your call.

Forcing someone else to take drugs for no reason that benefits them, only because it benefits you? (think date rape pill, or the pimps who force thier working women to do drugs to control them) questionable. Taking someone elses's life just for shits and giggles on your part? questionable...but at that point you are making a major decision for someone else against their wishes and thereby hurting them...what you do to yourself, so long as you are semi rational should be only your call to make. (if you've been brainwashed or programmed, then I really don't see it as your choice..and therefor questionable. But if you are in relatively sound mind? It's your business.)

sometimes there is always that one oddball instance where it's not an issue...say that couple that likes to spice up thier sex life by pretending they don't know each other and he slips her a mickey and takes her home, people do wierd shit....but 99% of the time the woman isn't aware, and if it's not her choice then it's wrong..

agreed and not agreed.

any man is suppose to born free with a free will to do what he/she thinks is right. we are raised to live by certain standards and ethics. it's also part of humanity to rebel and question these values that our parents and other people give to us. but the interesting point, in my opinion, is that how often you do something *just* for yourself? even the smallest things can affect other people around you.

the biggest issue so far is my brother's suicide two years ago. i think i will never get over it. and i think big part of his final decision was a tragic misunderstanding that could have been avoided. he broke my heart, my sister's heart, my mother's heart and my father's heart. it can't be right.
