yeah, I remember when that happened and really freaking out about it. Have remembered it ever since...that's when I developed my pronounced hatred of the Chinese government (the people are great, the culture is great, the government sucks!) Then a few months after that I read about what China had done to Tibet and oh man, that's one of my rant subjects. I even have a sticker on my car that says FREE TIBET. Had some guy ask me the other day who tibet was. (tehbit, not tahbet)
I told him it was a small country under china's unlawful control and the rightful home of the Dalai Lama. What's a Dalai Lama? Is that one of them fancy short camels?

I shit you not. I don't know if I'm just that much more self educated and world aware or if people are just incredibly damn ignorant these days.

Heh..you were born five years before I graduated, actually, you are just two months older than my nephew...you come across as being older...don't take that wrong...just more mature than most 23 year olds.

Oh well, happy bday to us!

My father was friends with a good portion of the Chinese grad students at UAF, back when he worked there. *sigh* Fun times, great friends, excellent food... what could be better?
