Good movie.

Went with [livejournal.com profile] yaksha42 to see The Matrix: Reloaded, which was exceptionally delightful, and I want a transcript to pick apart the philosophy and see where it applies to me and mine.

Other than that...

I was struck by the similarity between M'sieur l'Abruti and his wife with Neo and Trinity. I kept comparing noses between Trinity and Persephone, wondering if the one was not in fact the other. It would wrap around nicely, that way...

I was expecting to see Cypher. Just, you know, appropriate. Maybe in a crowd scene or something, unknowing of his past. Perhaps even as a begger, far from the life of luxury he'd imagined.

Oh, and the Smiths!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My, oh my.

And those fight scenes were sweet.

Great movie. I'm going to want to watch it again. Several times.

Just to let you know, Cypher is, in fact, in the movie. At least, as far as I could tell, he was.

Agent Smith does rawk da house, too.

I'll just give a couple of clues, since I don't want to ruin it for anyone else. :) 1. He's no longer bald. 2. He's in Zion. (or, probably more properly "Zii-ON", with proper emphasis and pronunciation).

I wouldn't be too surprised if the Marovingian was, in fact, the remnants of an earlier One trapped in the Matrix. That was one possible implication of Persephone's comment to Neo that the Marovingian had once been 'like him'. If that was the case, however, then Persephone is probably not some manifestation of an earlier Trinity, as The Architect is pretty clear that Neo is the first One to be in love with somebody.

My problem with finding Cypher in the Matrix is that he was killed in the real world by Dozer. If Cypher is in the Matrix, it could be that the REal World is just another level of the Matrix, but that would be a 'and then they all woke up' kind of ending, which I don't really want to accept.

On repeated viewings, the chase scene got better, but the first Smith fight scene got worse. Most of the other fight scenes remained okay, but what repeated viewings managed to do for me was help me extract the differing philosophical viewpoints. I'm at a bit of a disadvantage versus many of my friends, since I have no formal instruction in philosophy in my background.
