Evidently, my silence is a dearly-held value. When I am informed that I am disturbing others with noise I make, I react out-of-proportion to the actual inconvenience caused.

I have the same issue sometimes, although the noise is usually song, rather than laughter. Apparantly, I'm not always so good at mentally separating 'Now is not a good time for you to be singing, because I am studying' from 'Your singing sounds like yodelling cats being fed into a mincer, please shut up'.



Sometimes I hate living in a terrace.
