Little Fayoumis looked all excited about The Matrix: Reloaded upon seeing the trailers. Informed him that he would not get to see it for quite a while, as there were some grown-up scenes in there. However, when we got our own copy, we could edit that out and make it safe for him.
He seemed quite contented with that idea.
Ahh, censorship.
...Well, it *is* rated R.
He and I had in-depth discussion of X2 upon leaving. He'll be a mutant for months. He dug Wolvie.

He thinks that mush is pretty icky.
He groks shapeshifters, happily. Being someone else without their permission is bad. Being someone else, even with their permission, and fooling one of their friends is mean.

okay, what exactly does that mean?
it was rated 15 here in the UK, meaning that you had to be at least 15 years old to see it...

Most films that would get a '15' in the UK get rated 'R' in the US... but so do some films that get an '18' here.
And, of course, a '15' in the cinema might not make '15' on home video. The Matrix is a good example of that - a headbut in the subway fight sequence was edited out of the VHS and DVD releases.

Things that can earn an R rating:
Sex
Violence
Language
Nudity
...and probably Just Plain Disturbing, too.
