Poly silliness...

Telling someone you have to break up with them, 'cause they just lost their Primary, and you refuse to be put in a position where you might accidentally turn into someone's Primary: you can't stand to be a one-and-only.

I dunno, that sounds awfully self-centered. What about care and concern for the other person? I've known a few polyamorous people who regarded their relationships as disposable, and I hate to judge, but that always seemed a little misguided to me. It sort of takes the "amour" out of "polyamoury."

I know; and my attempts to commiserate with you consistently seem to backfire. I should get a clue and stop trying. Sorry about that.

It's probably just the ogre archetype in me coming out. Some people are much more prone to being carelessly stepped on than others. I used to try to explain to people that my intentions are always golden, but these days it just seems easier to not place sentimental value on any friendship and let people stick around if they think they can handle me.

Maybe I figured that since yours was dry and devoid of smileys, more of the same was appropriate. But it wasn't just this time. I always manage to step on you whenever I try to show that I agree.

Hah, people laugh when I tell them I'm an ogre. Just 'cause I'm short and female and have a very childlike voice.

Wow, that's amusingly ironic: during one of my rare moments when I'm not out of sync, I'm perceived as being so. That is just neat. In a twisted, slightly painful, damn-the-universe kind of way. :)
