Still awake. Daren't go give plasma until after I sleep and wake up. Cancelled with Mina, as I haven't the foggiest how long I'll sleep after I do crash out, and I fear I'd be in horrible shape, and likely won't wake until after 9, which'll make the plasma question moot anyway.
Joanie no baka, you're not even used to caffiene; what made you think you could take on Brew?

It's in enough demand that donors are paid, which pleases me greatly: I help people, and I get paid for it.

I always felt guilty about walking past a blood donation centre every day and never giving blood, but I'd freak out. And now I've moved cities /and/ they moved the blood donation centre, so no more guilt. ;o)

Yeah. I really dislike needles. I don't think I'll be donating plasma any time soon...

At the hospital I was going 'How serious, really, would it be if I got tetanus?'... in the end, I didn't get the shot.

Needles don't bother me overmuch. However, if one of mine or I ever develops insulin-dependant diabetes, I'm going to be all for a pressure injector.

Beyond the needles, don't you have to /really/ watch what you eat, when you're diabetic?

I baby-sat two little diabetic girls and their older sister, and learned more about nutrition there than from anything in school.

Sugar is the second incredient listed, right after 'water'... I suspect that letting diabetic sniff this could prove fatal.

The cure for this is to get some sugar in the bloodstream but fast. There are glucose tablets, ditto in injectable form, and the smart diabetic always has some form of high-sugar candy on him/her.
Of course, too high blood sugar can cause unconsciousness too, and won't be cured by more sugar, but they can sort that out at the hospital, because sky-high blood sugar doesn't kill one immediately, while rock-bottom blood sugar can.

I'm /strange/ with blood, giving blood doesn't bother me in the least, but I can't stand blood in movies and such, where I can't do anything about it.
I'll have to see. That would be a good way to pick up a few extra dollars, and then I can make jokes about selling my body! *laugh*
