I watch some TV sometimes.

I've heard about ... was it Pokémon? doing that originally until they tweaked the frequency.

I think the cartoon that did it was Pokemon. The Simpsons went to Tokyo and turned on the TV and there was the program (supposedly, although it bore no resemblance to Pokemon) that caused seizures. Each member of the family fell victim, except Homer, who just did it because the others were.
