Am I insane? I must be insane.

I have, within easy reach, five books.

One of them , To Say Nothing of the Dog, I have read before. It is a library book. (And I must must must get my hands on my own copy of Jerome K. Jerome's Three Men in a Boat...)

The next one is Dragons of Autumn Twilight, Weis and Hickman.

Then there are two Lackeys: Serpent's Shadow and The Gates of Sleep.

Those are all the library books.

Hanging from my door, untouched in its bag, is Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.

What am I doing?

I'm reading the library books first.

Because I have to take them back.

Three Men in a Boat is laugh-out-loud funny. You will buttonhole strangers and read them passages. They will eye you warily.

The sequel isn't as good, but still has some hilarious bits. Many copies contain both.

I always read the library books forst, too. That's why I've been avoiding the library for a while; my to-be-read piles are getting scary, and I need to make some progress. Although to do that I'll need to stop acquiring books-- always so difficult, especially when one finds a book one really wants used or for cheap!

I am an addict, yes.
