Finally!

At last, my hair is long enough to braid practically. This means that I may put it in a braid before I fall asleep, lest it freak me out by wrapping around my neck if left loose. Not to mnetion the tangles...

You could french braid your hair when it's in the shorter stages. It's fairly easy to learn to do on yourself.... but it does help if you can practice on someone else first.

Learned how to do that on myself when I was 10 or so. (Saw it, liked it, duplicated it, and I think taught my mom: I'm not sure.) That's fussier than just braiding it, and I might as well just put it in a scrunchied clump and have it over with when I'm going to sleep if I have to french-braid.

...as I recall, swallowtayle was my "Here, sit still while I do this" head for a lot of interesting things, which looked varying degrees of good.
