I was raised in a household where religion wasn't a subject of discussion. It just wasn't. Everyone conducted their faith privately, and my father occasionally went to Meeting, but no one else had external religious practices that required rides.

None of my friends but BJ mentioned church much at all.

So it still sends me a bit for a loop to have an in-person friend casually mention going to church, and it not being a Thing of Great Evil to be avoided at all costs.

It might be worth it just as a learning experience to go to church once or twice. :> Just nothing too radical.

I've been to the Friends Church back home. Nice place, nice people, lovely energy. I probably will go back there from time to time when I'm back home.

There are some logical holes in the pastor's commentary, and I disagree with 3/10 of the church's fundamental beliefs at last look (most of them having to do, in specific, with Jesus), but it's still very nice.

Door of fucking Hope, on the other hand, the sister church of the Friends Church, is a nasty place, and if I ever return there, it will either be with backup, some heavy-duty smudge sticks and salt and water, or with a mob, pitchforks, and torches.
