So the primary personality has descent-of-consciousness; when I talk about the past, I say "I" when speaking of the primary sets, and "she" when speaking of the tertiary sets. Mona is the weird case.

The former personality sets before the complete merge were as follows, in order of seniority: Joan-prime (primary personality, near-perfect descent-of-consciousness and descent-of-personality from birth), Shanna (tertiary, guardian, wiseass, twisted sense of humor), Mona (secondary, damaged from Shawn/mental attempt to kill her, mute, incredibly shy), AzureLunatic (tertiary, Malkavian, formerly a LARP character, nuts, possessor of the Azzgrin).

However, the tertiary personalities are almost entirely where I get my personality tags from. Shanna and Azure merged (see, I think of AzureLunatic the Malkavian as Azure, and myself as Azz, which is why it boggles me when people refer to me as Azure except when they're being formal) and I-the-primary-consciousness inherited nearly all of that personality. So if you went back in time and met Joan-prime, you'd see a few things the same, but you'd recognize me when you met the Shanna/Azure merge. Joan-prime's personality became Marah, with the addition of some of the less-fun goodies from Azure's sets, and some of Mona's damage. (Joy.) Mona and Naomi have very many things in common; Naomi just seems to be without the damage that Mona took. garnetdagger took over Shanna's guardian functions, and has a measurably different writing style.

So, yeah.

Descent of consciousness is different than descent of personality. But we probably already knew that. Except for me.

May I mention that I'm currently having somewhat of a very strange coincidence experience?
I happened to run across some of the various systems posting on LJ, and thus some of the communities for the first time just yesterday evening, as I poked back through my comics feeds and found the Dilbert from a few days back. I suppose that I'd just not looked, as it makes perfect sense in hindsight.
At the same time, or actually a little before, during the day, I friended you from having read your comments in several other places and friendsfriends reading. Only then, after finding the communities did I check your links as the process of "learn more about this person that I've read in public places".
To explain why this was unusual to me, I'm a singleton ex-SO (a little over 10 years back) of a somewhat complex system(significantly over 40, as I never met more than the front of the second full set), and ex-husband to more than 10 of them. I've got okay to tell that, though they're pretty private, the last I've heard. Well, actually, last I'd heard, they'd supposedly integrated, but I don't know if that's the case, or just a strong front and very fast switching.
I don't know just how far that consent goes, as there's not continuous memory and the okay was from the integrated(?) resulting person, though it was very clearly stated by her: IIRC "Tell whoever you need to.". Sigh.
Ever since I realized that I'm talking to/reading from a system, as of last night, I've been trying to figure out where to bring up my history, as I didn't just want to blurt out in a non-multiple related post.
I want to be as upfront as my agreements with them can let me be, so if there's concern with talking to an ex-SO of a system, that's acted on as early as possible with as much information disclosed as is possible. On this, should I be speaking to garnetdagger directly?
This is I, signing off, still amazed at the amount of coincidence in the world.

No concerns. There's almost complete sharing of memory at the moment (in the past, there were things not publicly accessable to all selves), and I'm the main set. In addition to being the primary set, I'm the switchboard. So there need very rarely be concern from other people as to whether they're speaking to an appropriate person, unless I obviously happen to be Marah or Naomi at the moment, which I rarely am in public.

It's really interesting to know that about your past, though.

Okay, cool. I just wanted to disclose, and let you, or protector/guardian types, make the call whether I'm appropriate or not.
It was just really strange to have those two paths converge on the same day that way.
