[profile] onyxrising: roaches

Dearheart, I haven't the foggiest what roaches hate. Our apartment had ants, and cinnamon, cayenne pepper, and ammonia were splashed about like nobody's business. Of those, ammonia seemed to do the trick, especially when poured down the anthill. (Yes, we were evil, and pissed as fuck.)

Other than that, I was recommended boric acid, which is a roach poison.

Cloves. For some reason roaches hate the smell of cloves.

Boric acid worked in the apartment I grew up in - my mom put it around the edges of the kitchen.

Boric acid, yes, but in the form of "roach balls".
(Google don't fail me now...)
Ahh, there are several recipes out there, but they mostly consist of pretty much the same ingredients. Boric acid, flour, sugar, and shortening. (some recipes add onion)
The little buggers chow down on the roach balls, then wander off to die.

As a followup, I don't know of anything that will send them away non-fatally, not even clove oil, depending on the variety.

I found the roaches in my apartment breeding in the cap of the boric acid bottle.
But I think it's safe to say that I live in Joe's Apartment

damn roaches

Thanks for your help, gorgeous. They seem to hate the wonderful little poison i got, specifically to target their eggs. A chef friend gave me some advice on sterilization, too... chefs have to pass shitloads of sanitization classes and all to get their certifications. Keep yourself safe.

Kisses
