Randoms: household, packing, health

I'm having the usual assorted difficulties breathing. I hate gunk in my lungs.

I need to vacuum. I need to scoop kittyboxes. I need to prevail upon my dear co-parent to unload the dishwasher. I need to sweep the kitchen floor. I need to make sure that the Little Fayoumis has all his stuff for tomorrow in his backpack.

I need to do laundry. I need to start packing for the trip. (Yes, this early.) I need to file stuff into the proper binders; I need to do more of the Jettison Brothers' act on some of the older binders.

I still need to see about getting jewelry things worked on. I need to contact my silly Darkside. I need to clean out my inbox.

gunk

Re: Gunk in your lungs.
This is the valuable thing about bricks and boards under one end of your bed. If you lie with your head down, turned to one side, all the gunk will drain out of your mouth and you'll be okay again. It's not very comfortable, but I learned about this technique when I had pnemonia (sp?) -- I couldn't sleep at night. When I tried this I had about 15 minutes of approximate hell, and then I passed out because I was able to sleep like that.

If the gunk is too thick, make sure you're drinking enough water. You body will process the liquid and thin out the gunk so it can leave your body more easily.

I like non-prescription expectorant when my lungs get cloggy. (In fact, I should take some tonight...) I prefer the cough-suppressant kind, since that way I only wake up to cough when it'll be productive.

This is for less-serious clogging; for more serious, I think the head-down sleeping would be a good idea.
