Hypothetically...

...how long would it take an item to travel about 350 miles by US mail? Standard, not air.

it can get there in 2 days by priority mail - which, suprisingly, can be as (or nearly so) cheap as regular mail for things of a moderate size.

otheriwise, it is still only 3-4 at the outside.

quite.

unless the box for "please have this hand carried by one-legged gorillas" was checked.

but i think that costs extra.

Note that the USPS says that Priority Mail is a best-effort 2 day delivery. They don't have to deliver it in two days but they'll certainly *try*. This is pretty much what I was told when it took three weeks to get a Priority Package from Cambridge, MA to Seattle, WA.

there are always exceptions. i tend to use priority mail for certain size packages because, believe it or not, the way they figure flat rates for certain weights can make it just as cheap or cheaper than regular by-weight postage.

but then, i tend to send packages in that weird in-between size alot, for some reason.

Depends on how often it stops for snacks...

I was going to tell you to box it for such an offense, but... sorta too late for that.

Continental US, 4-5 days? Something like that, usually.
