The rain in Spain falls mainly on the post-apocalyptic toxic wastelands.
"There's a German in the grass with a bullet up his ass. O-U-T spells out."
"Ippy dippy, my space-shippy, on a course so true. Past Neptune and Pluto's moon, the one I choose is you."
And a final randomness:
I was watching Total Recall, and noticed that they gave Mars a red sky. Wouldn't the sky in Mars be black, since the atmosphere is so thin as to be hardly noticeable?
It's one of those things that makes sense to /me/...
A film is something... it might be a bit more high-brow. It might have a message to it. It might be very serious - but it equally might not.
A movie is pure entertainment. It's not necessarily an outstanding piece of cinematographic art, but you can sit and watch it, and eat popcorn, and it's fun.
Sometimes you might not be able to place something easily. Is 'The Matrix' a film or a movie? Depends what you're looking for, there.
Star Wars was a movie, as was Total Recall. Se7en was a film, as was Blade Runner.
I'm sometimes inconsistent with my usage - I might refer to the 'Star Wars films', but that's not because I think they're films-in-this-sense, it's just that it's not uncommon to use 'film' here where in the US people would use 'movie'.

I have high standards for films, not so high for movies.

Can I put that in my quote file? Please? Pretty please? And to whom do I attribute it?

Umm. Attribute it to me? I /think/ I made it up - if I've lifted it from somewhere, I've not done in consciously.
