Shit. Why did this just get complicated?
Big spoilers for my novel. Don't go further down if you don't want to watch the creative process at work and want to see it in its eventual completed form without the mess.
Also, it turns out that Drew's the one who's got the experience there. Alia's actually frosh, and so's Randy. Drew's, what, a junior? She's not a senior, but somehow she got to room with frosh.
So Alia's got the fragmented soul of the murdered girl, and she's not sure if it's the whole soul or not. I'm wondering if some of the murderers (it was a group) didn't leave fragments of their souls, since murder is a pretty fucked-up crime. She's only dealt with natural death before, and a fragmented murdered soul is something new in her book, though she's coping better than an actual person might.
I hope Alia isn't that much of a Mary Sue. She's somewhat like me, but I'm trying to make her stiffer, much worse at getting along with others. I've never had her deity problem, I should think, and nor that much problem with souls, though it is based off of the troubles I had from 1996 until 1998. I'm taking the situation and going off from it, though. Supposing the girl I didn't even know hadn't had anyone to mourn for her? And if ... hrm. Alia shouldn't have particularly great social skills; I think there should be some more footage of how she alienates people.
