Hussein was supported in his war against Iran, despite the Ba'ath party being nominally communist.

I think that's something that confuses a lot of the ignorant people. Bin Laden called Hussein a 'godless infidel', and the Muslim sect in his country he made a spirited attempt to exterminate were the extremist ones that everyone's scared of now.

My personal opinion is that in five years time Iraq is going to be a Muslim state, in ten years time they're going to be treated like Iran is now, and in fifteen years time we're going to see 'Gulf War 3: Operation Desert Fuckup'.
