'wibbble' is a username, shithead. Shockingly enough, LiveJournal didn't have the username 'John' free.

You miss the point, of course. You can act without consequences (or at least, you think so) because there is no /identity/ associated with your posts.

Even though 'wibbble' isn't my RL name (although 'John' is), it is a recognised identity. If I acted like a moronic little child (like you are, for example), it would have consequences later.
