Movie Thoughts (spoilers for Return of the King inside cut tag)

First, I would have liked to see this movie in two separate showings.

...Well, with a piss break in the middle, definitely.

And I stand by the two separate showings. Showing 1 would be with the hardcore, nerdcore geeks. Especially Darkside. Weapons, gaming, martial arts, graphics, and stunts would have been ooohed and aaaahed over. Debate over the books and how they could/should have done this would be haggled out.

Second showing would be with the slashgirls. Hobbit!Love would be giggled over, Arwen's jewelry exclaimed over, hot guys sighed over, and all the other things that slashgirls do. Interactive things might even be howled out at the screen.

Hearing slashgirls while attending the movie in the presence of a nerdcore man was severely brain-boggling to me. I'll stick with my beloved on this one.

We were sitting directly in front of some Legolas fangirls; mean age there was maybe 15. After some discussion with [livejournal.com profile] votania, we determined that the reason there wasn't more of them was because they were skipping school. Schools get out later in the afternoon; we were catching the 1:50 showing.

I found myself looking for Hobbit!Love bits, and figuring out which ones would be on the web as LJ icons by tomorrow. I wasn't looking for chemistry amongst the Big People so much.

The heads falling in, um, city, was great. So was hurling the great chunks of city at the orcs.

Legolas was a little bit too climby. Yes, elf. Yes, really good at that. Yes, fan service. No, not my type.

Aragorn? Hot.

Arwen? Still hotter to me than Eowyn.

Eowyn? Supposed to be in better drag, and not talking to Hobbit-boy there. Great slaying, though. Person next to me hollered out the wrong version of the line ("I'm a woman!" versus "I am no man!") and annoyed me.

Bitches behind us giggled at non-giggly things. Grrr.

Mmmmf, Arwen certainly got smooched! And I want a headdress like that, only with blue topaz.

Oooooh, ghosties. Pretty shiny ghosties. Well, really ugly ghosties.

At the end, all the hobbits jumping on the bed? I was biting my lip to keep from bursting out with the giggles, because I *knew* what all the hobbitslashers were going to say! Little fangirls behind us had no such, um, restraint. And there were enclaves of fangirls all over, it sounded like from the distribution of the giggles.

Scary.

it was a wonderful movie, but...

A friend of mine got some really good slash out of Star Trek Nemesis.

I'll have to see this, though, definitely.

*giggles*

I agree... I kept doing the hobbitslash stuff while my friends were ooh and ahhing over elfboy.

and everything you said is toooo true.

I kept wishpering to my friend, and you deny the hobbit love in this movie?

Arwen has the best jewerly!

Aragon is much much better then pretty wussy boy!

As for the "I am a woman" line, me guessed it and cheered her on, much to the dismay of the guys sitting next to us. ^^

Random LOTR comments ends here...

Geeks love Legolas too

Can one not be a hardcore/nerdcore geek and a slash girl?
ex: Frodo and Sam don't live together in the movie! *sob*
Um, hi
I am pretty damn geeky in regards to LotR (and a bunch of other things) and I think Legolas is the sexiest thing on Earth and don't know how you could NOT think Frodo and Sam are in love.
I am a geek slash girl? What showing do I belong at
And they did do this-they did all day showings of all 3 movies for the hardcore geeks (me) and then slash girls could go at midnight.
