Have caught up with both friends page and Bujold list.

Lots of stuff happening on friends page. When did Mercury come out of retrograde?

Lots of stuff happening on Bujold list. Have made my second bitchy post to said list (first bitchy post was back in the summer of 2002, and concerned a flamewar, and the ending of same, harkening back to a previous golden era containing good role models for my growing mind). This second bitchy post was relatively short (compared to the first one) and probably more bitchy. Was operating on a digest lag, though, so it is probably no longer relevant.

I expect some repercussions from this.


I have not been feeling at all well, lately -- mentally. Physically, I'm as fine as can be expected, given my mental state.

Dawn gave hugs. Virtual, of course. Darkside may get my voicemail message tomorrow.


Writing group was fun. wibbble, would you mind explaining your wife's father for the information of dear ranklecat, who has never met creatures such as that before, and hadn't realized that they (male oppressors of females) still existed?

Piskies are amusing to hear about. I suspect they'd be much less amusing in person.

The entire topic is a very touchy trigger-subject for some of the people there. I fear their flames, even when they're not flaming. And we're friends.

Just from what I saw, I'm surprised it didn't get really mean. I've seen worse fights than that on Mirror of Maybe list. I'm enjoying the other Az's thread on the subject, too.

This is a person who taught his daughter that her successes were down to him, and her failures because she didn't do things his way.

This is a person who, upon learning she had a boyfriend (that would be me), asked 'what does he think about your looks?'.

This is a person who, upon learning that said boyfriend (me again) is a psychology student, said 'well, he'll have his hands full with you'.

This is a person who has suggested that his daughter might be 'possessed by demons' for writing slash, and that because she's bi she's been 'brainwashed by the gays'.

This is a person who has done other things too, that I won't get into here, but the upshot is that E moved to Texas to get away from him, and I'm going to have to use every ounce of willpower I have not to beat him into a bloody pulp when we finally visit her family.

The guy's a failure and is trying to live his life through his children, by controlling them. They're not allowed to have their own lives, because then he can't hi-jack it for himself. If it wasn't for E's mother, this is a man who would die cold and alone.

Let's not forget the threat to send her to a deprogrammer if she didn't stop writing slash. The fact that he had her so scared that she almost didn't tell her family ahead of time before she left to come here, because she honestly thought he'd lock her in the house.

I seriously doubt it. He's far too arrogant. And he doesn't know about her girlfriends that you've been rather accepting of in the past, either. :)

mercury went direct january 6th. after that, it takes a week or two for things to smooth over completely as mercury catches up to where it was when it went Rx.
