Clicky games

I don't do clicky games.

In general, I'm not a gamer. I have done a few sessions of a LARP before I wandered off, bored. I have never tabletop gamed. I despise first-person shooter games, and 007 makes me nauseous. The only sorts of games that I will play are puzzle-type games, like Bejeweled, Tetris, and that one one on-crack game that involves bouncing heads around that stick to each other and explode. I love those sorts of games, and will rack up insane scores on them.

Unfortunately, I am also subject to the Curse of the Geek. While I can stay on LJ for hours, commenting and posting and reading, I can't do anything that requires mouse work, especially heavy mouse work, for more than an hour, slightly more if I get smart and put on the wrist brace beforehand. I stretch my hands out often, but it's not enough to play games, and the payoff for game-playing is not worth being permanently crippled.

So, as a rule, I don't game, and I get petulant if I'm recommended games that are click-heavy, and annoyed if I'm recommended first-person-shooter games.

Well, if you were anywhere nearby, we'd play with you. :)

is called Snood, and it's very addictive. The people who yanked out my bad tooth were even talking about it the day I was there!

I don't suppose you know of a source for a Linux version of this? I was addicted to playing it on [livejournal.com profile] boojum's computer for a while back when she used a Mac, but I haven't run into a Linux or Windows port.

(It might be better for my productivity this semester if you refrain from answering. But you should answer anyway. *g* )

I know of both Windows and Linux ports - the Windows port is on a Hoyle games CD, the Linux port showed up on my ... Mandrake? KDE desktop environment. Sorry, I don't remember the names of either of them.

If you send me an e-mail (sraun @ fireopal.org) reminder, I'll look up the Linux version the next time I boot that laptop.

Thanks for the information! Googling on "KDE Snood" found me the Linux version; it's called Frozen Bubble, and I just installed it.

(I appear to be mixing up my bubble games; I now remember that the one I only ever saw for the Mac was called Puyo-Puyo.)

Tetris. Tetris gave me tendonitis.

Bejeweled and Bubblet on my PDA. Won't play either of them on my PC.
