As most of those who have met me in person will know, I have the habit of wearing a strand of hair in a small, tight, braid, with pony beads strung on it, on the left side of my head.

I'd been wearing this latest strand since at least October. Today I cut it off for the interview.

I feel so very naked.

I had a similar kind of thing about 5 years ago - I got it in New Orleans - it was beautiful shades of blue, with a big silver bead on the end, and different glass beads along it.

I wore it until the anchoring hairs broke off, and I had to snip it off.

I keep it in a little box.

Know that you'll always have a talisman.

This is the first one that I've had to/been able to snip off. The rest fell all over the place on their own.
