I know I'd be all warm and tinglygrinning from being purred at over the phone.

It's warm and creamily melted. He's got this smoothly professional tone, and when he's talking to me, it gets warmer, and then when he's telling me that he's too busy to talk today, there's this little rasp of regret...

Hmm...I would suspect he always knew how to purr. One wonders, then, what has changed/matured/deepened in your relationship that would *cause* him to be purring at you, eh? ^_^
