Assorted: Anonymous crushes, hot slash, DiePunyHumans World Wide Wednesday

A new anonymous crush post from [livejournal.com profile] villainny, via [livejournal.com profile] trollprincess.

"Possess It Merely", hot Clark/Lex non-con slash. [FatherSir, I don't think you want to read this.] Link to archive also via [livejournal.com profile] trollprincess, who originally linked me to "Kryptobiology" (also hot Clark/Lex slash unsuitable for dignified parents of mine). (Oh, gods, now I'm not just making sure it's work-safe or not, but making sure it's parent-safe...)

AzureLunatic on Warren Ellis's DiePunyHumans World Wide Wednesday -- so there, [livejournal.com profile] shadesong! :-P

Nobody loves you when you're down and out no longer part of a fandom. {sigh}

I'm in a sort of non-fandom fandom. The fic is there, and the fans are there, but it's not at the super-popular Buffy or X-Files level (or what was once the X-Files level, says the old-timer).

It's my own fault, really. When I first got to LJ, I had left TXF fandom, but I friended all those people who'd once been my buddies in fandom. The only problem being, they'd moved on to new show fandoms and I wasn't interested in getting involved in it again. So half the time, I'm sure they're looking at their friends list at my name and wondering why they friended me. {grin}

Most Clark/Lex is useless for me if it involves people other than Clark and Lex, because I can dig the "These men will later be mortal enemies but now they are The Hotness" thing, but I haven't a clue about the actual other content of Smallville.

I've read stories in other fandoms simply because I know the authors style and want to see how they apply it to unfamiliar characters. The Buffy fanfics I've read probably outnumber the episodes I've seen, but I probably missed little nuances, too. Like TXF, Buffy is loaded with in-jokes.

Mmm, and X-Files. Mmm.

They don't make 'em like that anymore. (And in my opinion, after season 6, even TXF didn't make 'em like that anymore. No Mulder = No Grifyn.)

*chases those lousy, good-fer-nothin' kids off her lawn*

Heh! We still have one of the X-Files compendiums around here (it missed the last book donation triage because I insisted on sitting down to read it). It's only seasons 1-4, and it's the "unofficial" guide which was actually a lot more fun (and snarky) than the "official" one that tended to gloss over the GLARING continuity errors.

*will not make myself mad, will not make myself mad*

A Series Bible would've done Chris Carter so much good.

Even better! Those were the snarkiest of all.

Don't care. He reads my LJ now. I still have cool points. :)

You should probably just mention to your father that he never, ever wants to follow any links about 'slash'.
