So, honey, which came first, Jesus or Osiris?

(regarding: "Osiris was the Egyptian counterfeit of Jesus Christ!" from here)

Oh, you've found the Cutting Edge Ministries! They're an endless source of hilarity.

The scary part is that they are serious.

I like the bit about ancient Egyptians using the letter "T", myself.

(There's a perfectly good story of a T-shaped symbol morphing into a cross that actually happened: Thor's Hammer. I have no idea why they felt the need to invent one, and a boring one at that.)

I can increasingly no longer tell satire from reality. I'm not sure whether this is a failure in me or a failure in the world. I suspect both.

*wipes tears from eyes* oh..! this is..! hah!!!

No, honey, you don't. This webpage annoys me in more ways than one, not the least of which is that I do, in fact, answer yes to the following questions that it asks:

Have you ever looked right in the eyes of a demon and told the demon to take a hike? I have! Have you ever been growled at by a demon when you walk by them in a restaurant and church? I have!

And then it goes on to say:

Would you like help from being Depressed? Abused? Afraid? Tormented? Suicidal? Sick? Alcoholic? Addict? Obese? Homosexual (gay, lesbian)? Witch? Satanist? Brotherhood? Want out of the occult or a cult? Hooked on porno? Dying? OCD? MPD? DID? Molester? Self-Abuse? Bi-polar? Etc.? Just get Saved and cast out these demons!

A few of those can be caused by demons. Let me rephrase. Demons can do some of these things. But most of the time it's just the person themselves; our brains are extremely complicated and amazing machines. Most of the time, a demon in someone results in either them being suicidal, homicidal, or insane. Or some combination. :)

Of course, I don't classify every other-planar entity as 'demon', as I rather think the makers of this site would. If in fact they've ever encountered any. Sounds like they go around 'casting out' bad attitudes and self-doubt, mostly. *grin*

Ya know, while *I* was reading that, I kept hitting on their repeated statements about virgin mothers of messiah figures who died for the welfare of the masses in many different religions throughout history.

And I kept thinking...if I'd had very little exposure to Xtianity and saw that page, I'd conclude that a lot of the basic Xtian message is pretty much the *same* as all those other religions. So (*shrug*) it must not be anything particularly special or unique....

Just thought I'd mention it. *eg*
