HP Observation

Harry/Ginny seems that much less likely than Hermione/Ron. It's got that whole overtone of My Best Buddy's Obnoxious Kid Sister, which may or may not clear up in the intervening years, but...

...nah.

I'm really getting that feeling - especially since Harry is "as good as" a member of that family already. And Ginny has the sense to not wait around anyway.

Honestly, given how badly the whole thing with Cho and his first kiss with her went, and all the tensions that are going to happen in the next couple of years, and the prophecy thing, I can't see Harry having a romance with anyone. Male or female.

Not to mention I like the dynamic of Harry's friends being both male and female without sexual connotations. And that's speaking as a slasher who is currently in love with Harry/Neville. He's only fifteen and he's had a traumatic life. Let him live to grow up first. Something which, at this point, is in doublt.

Except that Luna has an enormous crush on Ron, one which started when they met on the train.

But - you know, Harry's relationship to Luna and Neville have striking similarities. Both Luna and Neville can see Thestrals; both have traumas related to their parents and both are...not as "in" as others. Luna saw her mother die, and her Housemates hide her things for fun. Neville is the butt of humor and while his parents are alive...well. He may also have an obliviated memory of seeing them crucio'd. Plus his share in the Shroedinger's Prophecy.

In fact, Harry has more in common with those two than he does with his two best friends. His very fame has put him on the outside of a lot of things.
