PSA: LJ comment e-mails delayed

LJ is having troubles sending out comment notification e-mails at this point. They're being fiendishly delayed. Rummage around on my friends page if you want Brad's exact quote, but he's Not Happy, and furthermore, Not A Mail Guru (but looking for one).

I think my comment from ornjkitty was, just now, about an hour late.

Well, I think part of that might be my extremely crotchety old computer. [I downloaded an update on the new machine that fried my email connection, and just haven't felt like messing with it too much to fix it, so I am using my old NT machine, which threatens to crash every time I get up to go to the bathroom, just about!] I was surprised the message got through, I was getting so many error messages about that time that I called it a night.

That doesn't do anything for LJ's side, though. Once the comment is posted successfully, regardless of the crankiness of the computer posting it, the comment notification e-mail should be sent out within 10 seconds.

LOL. It went screwy right as I was clicking the "Post Reply" button. I wasn't quite sure if it wonked out before or after it sent. :P

I was basing my "it took an hour" on the fact that LJ stamps comments with the server time when they get posted, the e-mail notification had just showed up in my box about 3 minutes before I replied, and the time stamps on your comment and my comment in reply are at least an hour apart.

OK, OK. I admit it. It wasn't me! I didn't do it. [But boy, is it fun to argue about it! LOL]
