Nope, this isn't good either.
Sabrina and her mom are having ... drama. Lots of it. Sabrina's mom is Not Cool with Sabrina being Wiccan, or her hanging out with a bunch of witches, or her dating a pagan ... or anything, it seems.
Sabrina's trying so hard to be acceptable to her mother, without bending herself to the point of breaking...
I think it just broke.
She's probably going back to Colorado, which ought to be a good thing. Neighbor won't be particularly happy about it, but that's how life goes.
I'm none too thrilled with Sabrina's mother. She's got a knack for picking the guys who are just plain wrong ... your mentally, emotionally, and physically abusive types... the current one isn't physically abusive, at least... but he's stood her up at the altar twice. Votania, Rana, Alan, Neighbor, and I are invited to the wedding. This wedding. If he shows up.
Pick your battles, Mommy. Job and apartment are worthwhile things to push your kid to get on her own. Religion, getting your eighteen-year-old child to go to church for seven hours a day in a religion that isn't hers... that's a bad fight. That's a really bad fight. Disrespecting your child's friends, the only friends she's got here... that's a bad move too.
Mommy doesn't approve.
This is a bad move on Mommy's part.
I was blessed with excellent parents, the sort that always love me, the sort that have always wanted me, always encouraged me, only discouraged me from something when it was actively bad for me, never pushed me religiously, didn't even shove me hard in school when I didn't feel like doing it...
I love Mama. ...I'm glad Sabrina loves her mother... and I'm glad she's realizing that it may best be done from a distance.
