So I come in and get directed not to a booth, but to see one of the resident Big Names. I'm figuring it's probably because I've called in twice in the last week.

"Joan, how would you like to monitor?" she asked me.

How would I? Would I ever!

So. Much ado. Shall get name badge and all. Shall duly taunt Darkside. Hee.

I may or may not get an actual pay raise for doing this. Am not sure. However, this raises my standing in the hierarchy from "mere peon (who does a good job)" to "peon who can be trusted to spy on other peons to make sure they're doing a good job", and also to "someone who can be gossiped with by the other not-quite-so-peons".

I'm already making 1.69 times the state's minimum wage. I'm also making fractionally more per hour than my blonder half based on the fact that I get paid extra on weekends, and the workplace counts Friday as a weekend.
