Been debating this one, but I asked wibbble, so I suppose it would be nice of me to post this in return.

Sometimes I think I'm oversocialized. I'm used to expressing myself in a very restrained fashion, which sometimes comes out as polite little social lies.

Don't get me wrong; I love 'Song dearly. But she and I do much better being *not* local to each other. Although that might have changed over time; I didn't realize I'd react badly to her presence until I was IN it, and if we were local to each other she might gradually drop the extremely annoying veneer and be the 'Song I know but was not allowed to access in person.

I know that a lot of the people that three years ago I was having prickly-hostile reactions to the thought of being in closer contact with, I am now able to handle up close and personal. My water brother comes to mind. Three or so years ago I said that if he and I ever had a serious relationship, one of us would be doing stomping all over the other, and there would be lots of fights. Now, he and I just sort of melt together, and I realize that I don't know him well enough to know what we would actually fight about.

I don't think I've ever fought with any Earths besides my father. And since my Earth has become more prominent over the intervening years, it's going to be ... interesting.

I'll have to ask him (my water brother) if he holds grudges the way I do. Really, it's a coping mechanism rather than an absolute defect. If there's something I can't deal with, or don't know how to deal with, it bothers me until I can deal with it and figure out how to resolve it. And when I brought up the "angstwanker" incident to him, he was able to explain what had happened from his perspective, immediately, and that made everything all better.
