Oh--
it has begun again. Darkside and I have begun our war of smackdowns, etc. It always starts out small and escalates. This time --
...this time it started out with me touching his hands twice. Now we grab each other by the throat and exchange bonk. Hand-touching must have been Wednesday. Today ... today was special too.

godai, I think you may know the significance of that... not sure anyone else would. Still got the film, too.
Today, Darkside and I started weaving our friendship yet again into that same dance, the one that gets closer and closer to intimacy. But is there a boundary? What's the external jolt that'll drive the system into a new, higher order?
It is now not exceptionable for me to greet him by placing a hand on his shoulder and giving his shoulder a friendly rub ... perhaps only he and I, there in his class, know that it's a caress...
With a startup like this, what'll be the climax?
...Darkside's not to graduate until October 2002, which gives me an extra few months in his company. He's decided to lighten his class load in order to be able to do well in class and still work; the summer semester, he'll re-take a few classes to improve his GPA, and take his senior project class. He's 8th tri now, so he could technically graduate after next semester, 9th tri, the day before his birthday. But he's waiting.
...I wonder, did he not have friends at school, would he be so worried about his GPA?

Random quotage from the Graham Norton show last night. Graham's a very camp, Irish chat show host and he has a slot on show where he pulls the phone numbers from the Internet and prank calls them. Anyway, the guest was John Waters and they got around to discussing dodgy restaurant names. (John saw one in London called Bungholers and Graham found phone numbers on the net for New York restaurants called Benders and Fanny's. After a few minutes of translation he called Fanny's.)
G: Is it hard to get into Fanny's?
M: Well for a while we were closed for refurbishments, but...
G: You mean Fanny's had the painters in?
*audience laughter*
M: Sir I can't hear you properly, could you move away from your radio?
G: That's all right. I didn't have any more questions.
M: Well I hope to see you at Fanny's soon.
G: Yes. You and my mother!

Among the other reasons is a renfair comedian called Ded Bob, and the guy who holds him. Ded Bob is this skeleton dummy, and he sits on the guy's shoulder. The guy wears a bag over his head and is very much not part of the act. Ded Bob has a mallet that he bonks people with, and shouts "Bonk!" when he does it. Really funny in a bizarre sort of way. He also has ladies wearing Serious Cleavage outfits jump up and down.

I took over 500 pictures at the 3 Barons Ren Faire in anchorage last year. I even webgal'd them and posted them up for the players(renfaire in anch is done by the UAA theater group(or atleast started by them, but open auditions) and not the SCA). I ended up getting a free pass from them for the very last day of Faire as a thank you for it.
