Better Off Dead

As everyone probably knows by now, someone posted some bitching about Bush that could be construed by the picky as a threat on his life, some person reported this to the FBI, and the FBI (naturally) came to her place to see what all the hoo-ha was about.

Asshats, the concerned, and those required by law to report anything that might be a death threat to the President can and will report even a facetious post that could be interpreted as a threat. It's a fact of life.

I'm not saying to not post fervent prayers to the powers that be to, if it is within their Divine will, have someone important and dangerous to the very fabric of the Constitution choke on a pretzel, say. I'm just saying, if you post something like that or grouchier, that someone who may or may not be doing so out of a sense of justice and right (or malice and obnoxiousness) could report it, and you, too, could have someone unamused on your doorstep at odd times of night.

Didn't you post something about wishing he would be struck down by the Gods of your Fathers? I guess that's different than a "death threat." *snort*

Just remember.

If anything of that nature (God forbid, naturally) happens to Bush, Cheney is officially in charge, not just nominally.

Do we really want that?

:)

Honestly, I just hate the witchhunt mentality that's filling this country. Because I *really* love this country - and I love the constitution on which it was built. Which is why I dislike a president who tramples on it, and I despise any attempt to limit civil rights via the constitution.

I do not understand a Republican who would trample on the rights of individual states to make marital decisions on their own - especially since the residents of many states agree with him.

No, because then Satan really would run our country. ;)

Yep, I read about this as well.

Puh-leaze. I can see that the Secret Service, once alerted, would need to check out every possible threat; no matter how remote (I may not like the man, but even I can't come up with a plausible scenario for how he'd be found dead in coitus with several black male children surrounded by a pile of crack).

So really, my beef isn't with the Secret Service - it's with the loony that contacted them in the first place over this obvious non-threat.

And now she's gonna have an FBI file for the rest of her life - which could definitely come back to haunt her a time or two.
