You know, this could be a picture out of the apartment I lived in after I broke up with my first long-term girlfriend. The kitchen faced the living room with the cabinets in exactly the same way! But I think the sink was actually at the end of the counter (that in your picture has no sink).

My sink's in the middle of that counter. One of these days I'll get some better pictures...
