I'm not sure Miles's cunning plans *have* exit strategies. At least not when he starts them rolling.

Invasion plans, though... compare the way Miles thinks through a campaign to how Mark thought through the raid on the Jacksonian cloners.

Even though Miles doesn't think about stuff, he has the experience and training to have those plans as backup standard.

Miles probably has issued standing orders to his troops on what to generally do in case of capture, and how to assess the threat situation. Mark would not have a good grasp on how he should order his troops to behave when captured by, say, a Betan security squad vs. a Jacksonian one.
