Texans? I know I have Texans on the friends list. tygerr. cawingcrow. If need be, I have a tiny studio apartment, the bathroom can be squozed to include a litter box, and I have two spare bunk-spaces (inflatable and futon on the floor).

Assuming that "driving to Phoenix" is part of an evacuation plan.

Ro and I are safely up in Dallas, which should be quite far enough north to avoid any such silliness as hurricanes, being something like a 10- or 12-hour drive. My sister was bitching about the news people this morning saying that Rita is strong enough to possibly still be a hurricane by the time it gets up this way, but my memory of natural sciences declares that to be unlikely-verging-on-impossible. We may be very wet for a while, though.

Dallas will be safe. Austin looks like it's going to escape the brunt of the storm, too.

It took me 34 hours to get to where I'm at, Phoenix might have been almost as bad (though I've heard the freeways going west were almost/just as bad).
