i live in a culture where even educated men believe that a woman is "asking for it" half / most of the time. you would not believe how little they know about what rape is and what it does to the victim. i'm ganking the rape thing if you don't mind.

I chose to take p_o_u_n_c_e_r at face value, although I would've preferred to think that he was deliberately provoking debate rather than that he actually doesn't see that the situations are entirely different.

A more cynical person than I might've also pointed out that things like NATO peace keeping missions are failures only in the sense that they were mostly designed to keep the US armed forces distracted so that they wouldn't get bored and invade any more random countries. ;o)
