There is a perfectly working iMac here, and I am using that. It is dial-up on the main house line anyway.

Thankfully, all I need to do here is shove the wireless card in my mother's DSL modem/router, and it magically becomes a wireless access point, too. I made a smart purchase with that one - at the time, I didn't even have any wireless hardware - I was planning for the future.

Since this is a vacation home, not a full-time residence, Guide Dog Aunt is not getting DSL for it.

I have a hunch that I had better go ahead and figure out how to use my cellphone for dial-up like pyrogenic does.

I do that all the time from my iBook. It's great fun posting to LJ from a boat or a train...

I do it from the cellphone. I promised to help my cousin set up same, but he thinks he's got it down. (The Paid Account Fairy gave her package to Santa a little early, so he got it on the 24th.)
