Well, this apparently wasn't an attempt at monogamy. This was a challenge, from her, on how long he could go without having sex with me.

He did not choose to accept the spirit of the challenge.

She's leaving for a three month vacation in three weeks.

He perceived that the balance of power had shifted to her side, and consequently, much fun was had, though no "sex" was involved.

You see, it has lately come out that I'm poly, he's mono, and gods know what she is, but she's got a long term long distance relationship thing going with this other guy, who's evidently more of a bastard than Darkside is (and not in the good way) with children besides.

Adam's historical difficulty has been, he says, in letting other people define who he is too much. It's very good that he likes the version of himself that she pushes him to be. ...It would be somewhat better if he built his own version of himself.

But who am I to talk? I far prefer the version of myself that I am around Darkside... ...difference is, this is the version of me that being around him inspires me to be, rather than ideals he lays down upon me and expects me to live up to.

I worry.

...Adam is perfectly willing to be monogamous and be fine with me being poly as long as he doesn't get empathic overload from it. V... well... hrm. I don't know about her. I have the feeling she and I would be "social" but not friends.
