Movement II: more dance.
So, having sensed that Adam is getting really fucking cheesed off by the dramatics and grouchiness and sniping, V has chosen to explain which, exactly, part of her adoring family soap opera is inspiring her to relieve stress in such an unproductive way.
Four divorces in the family within six months is not a good thing, no.
But one could think that, being 21 and out in an apartment on her own, one might end up isolated from the worst of the fallout. ...speaking of which, I wonder how poor dear Dawn is doing....?
But this is the part of the dance where she apologizes for any wrongs she may have done because she was so stressed out/worried/whatever, and is extra-sweet to him in order to make up for it all.
And, being a gentleman, he accepts the apology gracefully, and is less critical of her shortcomings, knowing what incredible pressure she's under from her family, her job, and all the other things.

Re: Perhaps
She's been avoiding him these past little while because every time they're out on a date, I call and interrupt.
Adam had no idea that when he left messages with Marx saying that he was going out with Valerie, the "going out" part stuck, but the name didn't... Last weekend I was upset over something or other. (For some reason, I feel that Adam views me as easily upsettable. I only tend to be upsettable if a) something hits me really hard, or b) people around me are going emotionally bonkers.) I called twice, right in the middle of their date. The second time he had the phone turned off, figuring that I would call again.
I think I'll save the rant about phones for later, in its own entry. It deserves its own entry.
But, in short, she doesn't want to see him before she leaves for his vacation, and it's my fault because I'm his boss and I call and interrupt dates and every time I call, he gets thinking about me and wanting to come back home and isn't thinking about her.
It's my fault.
Riiiiight.
