love vs. lust

I may not be in love anymore, but he's warm and friendly and smells nice. Don't know what about it that kicks off my senses, but it does.

Smells nice is very important. They've done all sorts of studies on how important it is to be smell-compatible, and how much higher divorce rates are for people who are not.

I suppose it would be a Bad Thing if my lizard-brain (you and Kimmiebeth both used that phrasing, and I love it) was telling me that he was a nasty predator that was going to eat me, and not in the good way...

I suppose, also, that a major factor in my slight edge of discomfort around R is that his scent does not trigger my "mmm warm happy loved" routines. He's a dog person. Dog people just don't smell quite right to me, in general.
