A blood donation purity test. Locality-specific and application-specific, of course, listing things that one may do (in general) and have blood that is still considered OK, and things that one may not do.

I have been known to consider things and then not do them based on "I cannot give blood if I ______ ."

No question of whether the sex act was "safe" or "unsafe", no question of how long ago it was, and how many HIV tests in the between have been negative.

I am out of the blood donor pool for good.

So that slashgirl dream of a kinky threesome would eliminate all three from giving blood. (Unless the two guys don't perform any sex acts on each other, and just the woman, in which case it's suddenly safe.)

Define "slashboy" a bit more precisely, please--I'd kind of like to know whether I exist or not (at least statistically). ;-)

I don't write the stuff, but I'm known to read it now and again. And have been drafted to supply...erm...'technical advice' on occasion as well.

I think that most of the rare group of male slash fans tend to be straight. I've been informed that what slashgirls write isn't generally what gay guys look for in porn, although I wouldn't know firsthand. :o)

I saw, at one point, a "gay guy reviews female-written slash fic" thing. There was one fic where the commentary was restricted only to "remember, the prostate is not a 'sees stars' thing" and a "Too much intellectualizing; they would not be much able to think at this point" in one other place.

Erm...well, strictly speaking that's true only if she KNOWS about the guy's history. If they were, y'know, in a *relationship* where they *talked* about things like sexual history.

If, OTOH, she spent all her free time hanging out at 'pick-up bars' and had 300 one-nighters a year with no condoms in sight and no discussion of prior history...well, THAT's apparently safe, too. *eyeroll*

What they really need, but don't have (and never will) is a non-gender/orientation-specific question that basically asks, "Are you a skanky ho who's likely to have become HIV-positive since your last test?"

A specific (and disqualifying) question about "Have you EVER been exposed to Icky Gay Cooties"; NO question about "Are you currently a Skanky Diseased Ho". (Erm, in the metaphorical "amateur" sense of the word "Ho", that is--there *is* a disqualifying question about *literal* whoring in the sense of "sex work for pay". Apparently HIV is spread via "filthy lucre"--who knew?)

My character Rosalynde was absolutely infuriated following 9/11, as she was trying to give blood, but her fiancé had had one ill-advised night of fun with a virgin who had done none of the things on the list, so she and he and their other fiancée were banned. The two ladies are never going to rack up a year without having slept with their husband-to-be, so it might as well be for life for them as well.
