Afternoon.

I just sent Traveling Manager the correct information for contacting Facebook about
copyright infringements. I have no idea what address she was e-mailing to get them
to respond, but you can't just do that. You have to go through the correct channels
to even get noticed, especially if there's a small staff sorting all the crazy
stuff.
and omg. I just was trying to type my own name into the e-mail program, and I typed
in 'a', for 'Azz'. That's a name I don't use at work, but that's the first thing I
think of when I think 'my name', the one I answer to in public.
By the time I'm 40, I may well have changed my name.
I wonder if that's going to be the next big trend in social things -- people naming
their children knowing that the name they tack on their children at birth is a
temporary name, with naming ceremonies happening upon adulthood, when the person has
actually found their real name. I know it's a standard in some other
cultures, and I think the prevalence of use-names on the internet is going to lead
to a lot more people identifying more with their perhaps silly nickname than their
formal given name, to the point where they might feel like at least including it in
their legal name.

Pointed work at LJ for some examples of using blogging to augment work and/or make
work fun. I think I perhaps should start using my work-safe LJ a little more, even
in Support circles, though that runs the risk of me becoming more linked than I
already am. It's a little too late for me to separate my personal presence on LJ
from my Official Volunteer Presence --
azurelunatic is a far more known
"brand name", if you will, than my legal name will possibly ever be (unless I break
into popular fiction, and in that case I might still use a pseudonym).

Could have been a worse day, all things considered.

Here in Washington, it's literally a same-day procedure for the court processing. I downloaded the forms, filled them out, took them to one of the county courthouse branches, and they had me officially changed over in about 20 minutes -- judge signature and all.
(Of course, the rest of it -- SSN, driver's license, car title, rental lease, etc -- took a while...)

(the difficulty being that I have never liked the idea of having or raising a kid)
I've been thinking about trying to come up with a new pseudonym - I don't really identify as much with "sithjawa" any more, and it's been a while. Problem is "sithjawa" still has the very rare property that I chose it for - it's almost never taken.

I'm rather afraid that I stomped on some of the LF's ideas about being called something else, but I really didn't feel like calling him whatever-it-was Pickles. Too much Rugrats.
