Harsh words
No, I suppose Adam doesn't have "no responsibilities" at this point.
Time to open our mouth a little wider and stick the foot further in?
It does seem a lot like that sometimes, though. I gave a bit of a motivational speech. What part of "Get a job by the end of the month or you're out" is so hard to understand?
That was just fine. It was when I mentioned that I was glad he'd had his month of partying and no responsibilities that the trouble hit. No, I suppose school full-time isn't "no responsibilities". I suppose bills aren't "no responsibilities". Compared to a shitty job and a kid and bills, compared to school and a shitty job and bills, it's a lot more like it, though.
There aren't words to heal some things. It's just time for people to cool down and not be raging, time for people to calm down and not feel like cringing and crying.
I can't unsay it. I am frustrated by cluelessness. No, you don't have it made. Yes, you're doing the natural thing, partying and going out with friends and all the other things a twenty one year old guy out from under his parents' rules would do. ...
...Maybe we'll both feel more like the good side of human beings by the time you get home.
