Evidently, my "I'm getting better now, really I am" cough sounds just like someone Votania used to know, who's dead of cancer now. She coughed just like that.
marxdarx is still alarmed at my cough. He is young, and not initiated yet...
I got taken to the doctor every time I got a cold as a little kid, when I coughed like that, as is proper. It was never something they could do much for, besides heavy doses of cough meds/decongestant.
As I got older, it became apparent that I was tough enough to fend for myself when it came to some diseases. A visit to the hospital would keep me in bed and give me plenty of orange juice at $gawdaful per day. For any iteration of the common cold in my system, it's only usually worth visiting a doctor if the *really nasty* bit goes on longer than two weeks.
