Drip drip drip

Gynecological content from early in the morning of 2007.06.30!

The usual blood clots that I get are no larger than a half-centimeter on every side, in general. I've been getting blood clots of occasionally a centimeter wide and 4 cm long, this time. Things have slowed down considerably; I expect this tampon to last me through the night. There's still plenty of mess to go around, but the exuberant shedding of chunks has slowed down.

Given that I had at least two weeks of constant spotting-level drippity before the torrent, I'm not surprised that there is weirdness. It's outside my norms, but I'm sure it's within the norms of general menstruation.

Post-Saturday update:
There were cramps. Bleh. I am attempting to evade more of them through the good offices of ibuprofen.

I'm an egg in such matters, but does that kind of deviation requires getting a tune-up and a lube change on your dangly (or not so dangly) bits?

Um...I guess I should have warned you to stay away from me this month. I'm probably a walking bomb of fem-chems right now, and they're probably contagious. *is in week three with no end in sight*

So, so, so, so glad I am on birth control after hearing all this. Hope things get better soon.

Ibuprofen is my friend. O gods and little fishes, I love ibuprofen.

I never had chunks or even noteworthy clots until I got the IUD. I love the convenience of an IUD, but it has definitely made a change. I don't know if there is more uterine lining, or if it is just clinging more vigorously to the uterus and must peel off in large slabs instead of daintily dripping.

If it's going to be more than a month before a doctor's appointment would be covered by insurance, think about going to your friendly neighborhood Planned Parenthood. They provide all sorts of OB/Gyn services on a sliding scale.

Just avoid Saturdays, which is when protesters turn up even at the Planned Parenthood clinics that don't offer abortion services, to scream at the women going in to get pap smears and prenatal exams. Good times.
