I'd like to thank my friends for being sane. In most particular, I would like to thank my friends for being sane and not running and screaming and crashing into me because there's a post in lj_biz.

I think that fandom has already effectively demonstrated to the LJ Powers that Be that it is not a good idea to piss them off. I hope Fandom is open to the idea that LJ Powers That Be can be coerced into displaying common sense.

I haven't gone into the comments. I haven't read the bulk of my friendspage today. I was at work all day, and then I was at work all evening. I took a book into the bathtub with me, despite the cold water. I'm an hour late for bed, and I don't want to get any later. There is deep insanity out there. Stay safe, y'all, and please remember if you feel inclined to hassle LJ people, some of them are My People too, and they wouldn't be My People if they weren't Good People. (Of one kind or another.)

That was sort of the plan. I'm glad it worked. I didn't come home to 5 zillion comments to me and 4 zillion IMs freaking out, because I really don't think it was warranted in this situation, and I'm glad my friends know this. I haven't seen my friendspage, but so far I haven't seen spillover outside of lj_biz.

I don't get the point of moving. I really don't. Even if greatestjournal or insanejournal don't have the same TOS that LJ/6A have, they *will*.

GJ, probably not. GJ was created with the purpose of being for journal thread based roleplay games. I think a good 95% of accounts of there (well maybe not anymore because people jump ship when they get unhappy) are either OOC accounts (like the one I have), rpg communities and character journals. Anyone that doubts the truth to that, should look at the features that GJ has that LJ doesn't. They are all things that make rping over there easier.

People can leave. I always let them know that with as wonderful as they preach GJ looks, LJ is way better. I've been over on GJ for awhile now and let me tell you, if you need help from GJ itself. You are on your own. Icons get deleted whenever they need to clear server space, at random. They tell you it's from abandoned accounts, but that's not true at all. Support requests, you are lucky if they get answered in a few weeks time... if at all.

I know from experience that there is both cliquishness on LJ in support because it's inevitable, and very stringent attempts to crack down on same because it shouldn't happen. It's the efforts to avoid it that I applaud.

You know, the icon deletions amuse me on far too personal a level, given that there are people who go on and on about GJ's icon capabilities compared to LJ's.
